I’ve come to believe that to truly live and to be happy, you need to be able to stop and think for yourself. You can’t control everything, but you can control your own thoughts and actions. A lot of people are so focused on the outcome or the moment they want to be happy, but in reality they fail. Our mindset determines our happiness.
So, the quote above, about not controlling everything, is a great reason to stop and think. Even if it’s just for a second. Once you stop and think, you can then decide what you want to do with that situation. You can then make that decision and then move on to the next situation. It’s a mindset that is the basis for happiness and a life worth living.
People who think, “I’m going to be happy this time,” usually end up hating themselves for the next six months. They get so wrapped up in the moment that they forget the good things in life. As a result, they have no hope of ever being happy. That quote above, about not controlling everything, also applies to our mental state. When we don’t try to control our emotions, we end up controlling ourselves and the situation.
The quote above is from the original Dead Poets Society, the band that created the saying “you’ll be okay in the morning”. This is a good example of a situation where we are actually more likely to be okay in our morning than when we had a bad night.
The problem is that sometimes we want things to be “okay”, but we don’t do ourselves any favors with our expectations. We want to be happy, but we are often too negative and not giving ourselves the opportunity to be happy. But, as our friend and colleague, Dan Heath, once said, “You can be happy for a day, but you can’t be happy for a lifetime.
This is the very reason why my friend, Bill Gates, has become such a successful business tycoon. He understands that people should be happy, but also that they should be able to be happy for a day, but not for a lifetime. By being positive, we can actually make our lives worth living.
There is no one cure for negative, but there are a few ways to get there. One is to stop blaming our negative thoughts and feelings on others.
The other way is to remember to look at our thoughts as part of our own. We do have to live with the pain of others, but we don’t have to live with the pain of our own thoughts and feelings. If you’ve ever wondered why so many famous people have so many different names, it’s because we all have the same feelings, thoughts, and actions.
Take the example of our three characters. The first is Lazy Dick. Lazy Dick is always in bed drunk and he cant help it. He has no self-awareness, just a lack of morals. He has no real self-awareness, but he feels like his actions are justified because they make him feel good. He has the same thoughts and feelings as everyone else. The fact that he has no self-awareness is just a reflection of how others see him.
Lazy Dick has the same mentality as everyone else. He is just an ordinary person who acts like an amoral and immoral person. The problem is he is so ordinary that he doesn’t realize he is doing or thinking anything that is evil or immoral.
