Baldur’s Gate 2 is one of the two big new games of the year. We played it at GDC in June and have since been playing the new Baldur’s Gate 3. The game is set in a medieval fantasy world where you play as a barbarian named Baldur, or “the Bald” for short, who is trying to defend his homeland. You can take the game on your own terms. You can play as anyone.
As you might guess, Baldur’s Gate 2 is not a full game. It’s a 2-hour demo of the first half of the game that had very little to do with the game’s actual story. You can’t play as Baldur (or the Bald for short) in the game. You can play as any of the characters that you know like Orcs, Orks, and Orcsmen. You can get them back their old ways.
I think this is a great move. I don’t want to play a game I can’t play as myself, and the Baldur’s Gate 2 demo is a great way to get to know the characters and their histories. I’m sure there are a lot of people who are going to be disappointed if they don’t get to play as Baldur or the Bald for short.
Baldur’s Gate 2 is still in the early stages of development, and we don’t have much in the way of information about it except that it’s coming out next year. But to be honest, we don’t know much about the game outside of what we’ve already seen. We know that the story is going to revolve around the mysterious disappearance of Baldur, the legendary king of the Orcs, and we know that the game will be open-ended.
Thats what Baldur is up to. If youve read Baldur’s Gate 1, you know its a story about a young lord who was taken prisoner by the Orcs in the middle ages. Baldur wants to come back to his homeland and reclaim the throne. He kidnaps the legendary Orc, and he has to wait for the legendary Orcs to get together to free him. Thats about it.
It sounds good at first, but theres no way to be sure unless the game is actually finished. The game has a lot of work to do before it can even be considered finished. Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 are all about the story, but no game has been in the works since the game’s release last year.
The name of the game (and of the developers) is Baldur’s Gate 2, and the story is about a group of orcs who are sent to fetch King Elf-Eldor and the Orcs find him and kill him. The Orcs are still there, but Baldur is a little more than a little more than the orc-ish version. We don’t know how they got in here, but they’re likely to be the main story’s main focus.
So we want the story to have a little bit more in it. We also want to bring in a new director, but it’s still a pretty minimal project.
Baldur’s Gate 2 was originally supposed to be a trilogy, but the original plan was to do it as a single game. Of course, its sequel was delayed and cancelled and now its in its third, and final, game, which is also in development. Its story is about a group of orcs who are sent to fetch King Elf-Eldor and the Orcs find him and kill him. The Orcs still exist, but the group is now about to be disbanded.
